Note that the Thalmor reinstated Alinor as the official name of the Summerset Isles, as it was originally in the Merethic Era.ĤE 29: After taking control of Alinor, the Thalmor moved to gain power in Valenwood. This threw the Isles into anarchy and allowed the Thalmor, a previously ineffectual and minority voice, to rise to power through a series of events: first by assassinating the High Chancellor Ocato, causing the Stormcrown Interregnum, and then overthrowing the rightful Kings and Queens of Alinor.
Rise of the Thalmor: The Great War, Part IĤE 22: Although known by few, the Summerset Isles were as horrifically affected by the Oblivion Crisis as Cyrodiil was, if not more so, with thousands of the Altmer dying and all of their main cities being sacked by hordes of daedra.
